Yes. Dear Portraits is a real business run by a small European team. Your payment is processed through trusted, secure checkout partners. Your card details are encrypted and never stored by us. Your uploaded photos are automatically deleted within 48 hours.
Is my photo safe?
Absolutely. Your uploaded photo is used only to create your portrait and is automatically deleted from our servers within 48 hours. We never share or sell your photos.
Will the portrait really look like my photo?
It aims to. We capture the unique features and details from the photo you upload. Each portrait is one of a kind and the style is artistic. If you're not happy with the result, you can hit "Retry" to create a new version.
What photo works best?
For best results, use a photo that is:
- Clear and well-lit, no shadows on the face
- Front-facing or slightly turned, not from behind
- A close-up where the face is clearly visible
What if I don't like the portrait?
You can generate up to 5 versions free of charge, just hit "Retry" to create a new version.
How long will it take to receive my portrait?
Digital: Delivered by email within minutes of purchase. If you don't receive it within 15 minutes, please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders.
Canvas: 4–10 business days (2–5 business days production + 2–5 business days shipping) within the US & Canada. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order has shipped.
How do I receive my digital portrait?
Your digital portrait is delivered by email within minutes of purchase. If you don't receive it within 15 minutes, please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders. Your portrait is delivered as a high-resolution digital file, suitable for personal printing at home or through a print lab. Digital downloads are available to customers worldwide.
How do I receive my canvas?
Free shipping on all canvas orders. 🇺🇸 US orders are printed and shipped from the United States. 🇨🇦 Canadian orders are printed and shipped from Canada.
After your canvas order is placed, you will receive a complimentary high-resolution digital download of your portrait by email. You have 12 hours to review your portrait and contact us with any concerns. If we don't hear from you within that window, we will proceed to print and dispatch your order.
Please allow 2–5 business days for production, and an additional 2–5 business days for delivery within the US and Canada. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order has shipped. We ship via UPS, DHL, USPS or a local carrier equivalent.

All canvas portraits are printed and shipped from the US 🇺🇸 or Canada 🇨🇦.
Do you ship outside the US & Canada?
Currently we ship canvas portraits within the US 🇺🇸 & Canada 🇨🇦. The digital download is available worldwide, you can order from anywhere and download your portrait instantly.
Can I use my portrait commercially?
Portraits are licensed for personal use only. If you'd like to use your portrait for commercial purposes, please contact us at contact@dearportraits.com.
